from Bird - focused with motion blur (slow SS) Canon's EOS-1D X Mark III is one of the best DSLRs ever made. With fast burst speeds, great video quality and impressive autofocus, the 1D X III is equal parts cinema rig and sports shooter. Find out how it fares against steep competition in our full review.

Re: Canon 1D mark 4 shutter count. I recently came across another shutter count program for Canon cameras. Can't vouch for its accuracy, but you can check out: Thankyou! Finally a free shutter count app. My Mk IV is showing 732 which is about right as it had a new shutter fitted a couple months ago.
The 100-400II on the R7 gives a significantly sharper image than the 100-400II + 1.4X III extender on the 1DX. The R7 autofocus is better. The extender only works with centre point focus on the 1DX, due to lens going to f/8. The mirrorless viewfinder is useful in challenging lighting situations, e.g. contrasty conditions.
The 7D Mark 2 has a shutter lag rating of 55 milliseconds, which is identical to the shutter lag on the 1D Mark 4. Despite looking like previous 1D cameras, it's been extensively reworked (it includes more professional video
You're right. Canon's 5D IV is about the best mid-level pro camera on the market today, IMO. Unless you are a working photojournalist or sports shooter who really needs the 1D flagship bodies, the 5D IV is hard to beat. Plus the video capabilities are finally usable without a lot of fuss or additions, unlike the earlier 5D bodies.

The basic tracking speed of the Canon 1D Mark IV is the same as that of the Mark III, but its handling of subject motion, lost focus, and integration of information coming from the lens have all
Canon has announced it is working on updating the firmware for the EOS 1D Mark IV. The forthcoming firmware, version 1.0.6, will improve the camera's performance when tracking receding subjects and subjects that are approaching the camera slowly. The firmware will be available from late January, the company says.
